A fully qualified dance teacher covering a broad range of styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop & Contemporary, Genevieve has been teaching dance for all ages for over 10 years.

 

Genevieve commenced her dance training in classical ballet at the age of 3yrs, studying the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) Syllabus and completing examinations up to Advanced Vocational Level. After commencing Jazz and Tap classes as a teen and completing her V.C.E, Genevieve was accepted into the tertiary theatrical dance course at The Dance Factory in Richmond in 2000.

During 3 years of study in all styles of dance as well as singing and acting, Genevieve completed a Diploma in Musical Theatre and Performing Arts as well as a teaching certificate in the Dance Factory theatrical syllabus D.F.T.A. During this time she was also accepted into the Dance Factory Agency as a professional dancer, appearing in a number of corporate events as well as a chorus member in the musical Hair with The Production Company in 2002.

 

To improve her qualifications and to futhur improve her teaching skills, Genevieve undertook the Royal Academy of Dance, Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (R.A.D C.B.T.S) in 2007. A two year training course completed by correspondance form the Royal Academy of Dance in London, which focuses entirely on the teaching of Classical Ballet. Graduates are recognised worldwide as qualified teachers enabling them to enter students for the well known R.A.D examinations.

 

After teaching jazz and tap for many years and entering students for examinations in a smaller Melbourne based syllabus, Genevieve has now decided to broaden her horizons by being accepted as an Affiliate Member of the Australian Teachers of Dance (A.T.O.D) to commence in 2011, and will be including their Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop syllabuses in all her classes and will be hopefully be entering students for examinations in the future
