Examinations & Competitions
To further challenge more dedicated students, PCPA Studios offers both Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) Ballet Examinations and private lessons to prepare solos for dance competitions in Melbourne. Australian Teachers of Dancing (A.T.O.D) Jazz and Tap Examinations are also available by request.
Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) Ballet Examinations
The Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) is one of the largest and most influential dance education and training organisations in the world. The R.A.D offers a range of internationally recognised examinations and assessments which is designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages and levels of ability. Taking examinations greatly improves the student's technique, ability and performance while building self-confidence, creativity co-ordination & musicality and gives each student a sense of pride in their achievments. Students at PCPA are able to take examinations from 6yrs of age and are required to attend two ballet classes a week to ensure they are reaching a sufficient standard.
Competition Solos
Selected students whom have shown extra committment and dedication to their classes are offered the opportunity to enter dance competitions. Students attend private lessons to learn and perfect solo routines in either ballet, neo-classical, jazz, lyrical or tap which they then perform onstage at various dance competitions in Melbourne from May through to October. Dance competitions are a fantastic and fun way to improve your child's dance technique, performance quality, self-confidence & disipline. The competition format really helps give students that extra push to work harder and can lead to a huge improvement on their current standard.
